‘Tis the season! For ugly Christmas sweaters, Christmas cookies, Christmas music, holiday punch, egg nog, and spreading cheer for all to hear!
Drew and I hosted a fun and festive family tacky Christmas party and we had SO much fun!
I want to share some recipes, decor and outfits with you in case you are looking for some inspo for your party 🙂
Holiday Party Punch
Obviously, I can’t drink right now so I’ve been trying to get creative with ways I can feel like I’m drinking something special 🙂 I’ll include the alcohol in the recipe, but what I did was made it without, and then had a handle of vodka next to it for people to add to their individual punch as they please.
4 cups of cranberry juice
1 bottle of sparkling cider
1 liter ginger ale
2 lemons freshly squeezed
12 ounces vodka
1 orange sliced on top to make it look pretty 🙂
Roasted Red Potatoes (side)
12 little red potatoes
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon tarragon
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
- Mix all seasonings & oil together
- Add cut potatoes & stir together
- Bake at 375 for 45 minutes
Chicken filled with Prosciutto and Cheese (entree)
This is so very delicious and one of my faves. Busting it out for the holiday season is the PERFECT time to do so. Like most of my family recipes, there aren’t set measurements for the ingredients. We just see what “looks right” and how we are feeling. But here are the ingredients and how to make it.
Robusto Italian Dressing
Lea & Perrins Chicken Merinade
Mozzarella cheese slices (1 slice per each chicken you want to make)
Provolone cheese slices (1 slice per each chicken you want to make)
Prosciutto slices (1 slice per each chicken you want)
Chicken cutlets (you can do chicken breasts if you can’t find cutlets. But the thinner the piece of chicken, the less work it is for you pounding it thinner later. You want them thin because it is easier to fill and roll).
- always clean up any chicken you cook by cutting off its fat, etc.
- pound the chicken thin
- pour the Italian dressing & marinade on top of each individual cutlet.
- sprinkle the seasonings on top of the liquid, on each cutlet.
- flip the chicken over to the over side and repeat 3 &4.
- lay 1 slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each cutlet
- lay 1 slice of prosciutto on top of each cutlet
- lay 1 slice of provolone cheese on top of each cutlet
- roll the chicken up (make sure the “seam” is on the bottom of the pan).
- Bake at 350 for an hour. Once you see the chicken start to brown you can put aluminum foil on top.
DECORATE CHRISTMAS COOKIES!
We just bought the pre-made sugar cookie dough you pop in the oven and created an arrangement of festive sprinkles, icing, frosting, M&Ms, and cute cutouts. It was a super fun and adorable way to end the meal all sitting together at the dinner table, passing around all the decorative goodies, creating cookies together 🙂 I pre-baked the cookies before everyone arrived so they would have time to cool. (We all know how frosting a warm cookie goes…) Then I arranged all the cookies & accessories on a pretty tray to easily carry to the dinner table to everyone.

add ornaments to where you usually keep your bananas and oranges in the kitchen.
If you don’t have one of these yet, you have to! You can light it up or just have it as is – – either way is great to get in the spirit! It’s really great all year-round though because you constantly can change what you want it to say 🙂
