“paris is always a good idea” -audrey hepburn
I would like to take you to the most romantic city in the world- – The City of Love: Paris, France.
favorite part about french culture: The Parisians carry themselves with such sophistication. There is such an elegance in the air everywhere you go. Their architecture is beautiful. Their language is beautiful. The Parisian culture is beautiful.
The symbol of France. Make sure you go during the daytime and at night. At night it sparkles and it is nothing short of magical. (One night, my husband and I may or may not have bought a super cheap bottle of wine from a tourist salesmen- – drank it straight from the bottle- – and posted up for a very long period of time, singing the lyric, “If I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night” by Thomas Rhett.)
One of the world’s most famous museums and certainly another landmark of the city. You will stand outside of the entrance and wonder how it is the world’s 2nd largest museum. Once you get inside and see the Mona Lisa, you will be shocked at a painting that you have pictured in your head (no pun intended) for so long is so small in person!
The Paris shopping you have always dreamed of. Enough said.
Yet another gorgeous french monument. It’s located at the end (or the beginning depending on how you look at it) of Champs-Elysees. Make sure you walk under the arch and admire all the intricate details. It’s amazing. Although it’s like a game of Frogger running there weaving in and out of cars at the roundabout.
Eat macaroons. They are the absolute best. We went to multiple locations (we enjoyed this place, ok…) Our fave location for macaroons was on Champs-Elysees, but our fave location for tea in the tea room was on Rue Royal.
Pont des Arts
Lock down your love and toss the key in river seine. It’s tradition and romantic. Can you spot ours!?
Treat yourself to a phenomenal meal. There are tons of delicious french bistros and brasseries all over town, but if you really want to go all out – – go to Michelin Star restaurant, 114 Faubourg located at the Le Bristol. Dining at a Michelin Star restaurant in Paris!? It’s expensive and it’s worth it.
Walk. Walk. And walk some more
The architecture in Paris is full of beauty and stunning details. My hubby and I love to walk around cities so we walked to all of the locations I’ve listed in this post, without getting a taxi. For those of you who have been to Paris, you know that’s a ton of walking and ground covered! You will see so many gorgeous buildings and sculptures along the way. Make sure you hold hands and kiss frequently because it’s the most romantic city, right?!
leaving thoughts… you will eat carbs on carbs on carbs for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. embrace it! You will love every second of it. Also, have a drink at Camelia in the Mandarin Oriental Paris hotel garden. Amazing drinks, service and atmosphere (and cigars for the guys).
